I bought this 2023 GX460 new in October 2023 from Lexus of Towson in Towson, MD. It currently has approximately 3100 miles on it. Since owning it I have noticed that when coming to a stop and sitting still with the vehicle in gear and the brake pedal engaged normally that the vehicle will start to move on it's own causing more pressure needing to be applied to keep the vehicle still. This initially caught me off guard several times. It is a repeatable problem. I can see that the engine RPM's are increasing by 100-300 by without throttle input which seems to trigger the need to apply more brake. I searched on forums and found other toyota/lexus, including GX owners complaining about this. This is dangerous for obvious reasons.

My moonroof spontaneously exploded while accelerating from a stop. We were not hit by any object and were not traveling at a high rate of speed at the time. We heard a very loud "pop" followed by a rain of glass from the moon roof. Driver sustained cuts to his hand due from the glass shards.

I do have a lot problem with the GX 460 since I got the vehicle. The vehicle to the right and that the steering wheel was vibrating. We when back to the dealer the next day 4/9/23 and explained the problem to the seller that the car is leaning to the right and on the street and on the expressway between 35-45 mph the steering wheel vibrates horribly. The mechanic says he just did the inspection and everything is right with car. On 4/11/23 we went back to shop with the same problem. The mechanic says the checked the execissive road force and rotated and imbalance of tires. On 4/15/23 I went back to dealer to returned the car, because they have not solved the issue with the car. They told me they did something to vehicle but, they refused to explained why the did. On 4/24/23 I spoke to the manager from the shop and I told him if they are able to fix the car. I do not longer wanted the car. They setup an appointment with the master technician to double check what was wrong with car. The master tech told me the only thing can do is to move the steering wheel again. The car is leaning to right and steering wheels is vibrating. On 4/30/23 I spoke to Manager from the dealer and he told me that he couldn't do anything else for me. They won't be able to resolved the problem with the leaning and steering wheel. If I have any other complaints I need to call Lexus. When the vehicle is leaning to the right and pulling to the side is not consider a premium experience. The car is very problematic. Other possible cause of vibration and shaking include: bent wheel, improper alignment, worn suspension components, driveshaft problems, tire are out round and a lot money. Money that I don't have. This problem is not new for LEXUS or the dealer. There are many complaints in NHTSA and TSB in reference to LEAN to the right and Steering wheel. This is one reported L-SB-0015-21 and LEXUS haven't take any action to resolve this matter. Unfortunately, the customer is the only one who loses.

THIS VEHICLES PARKING BRAKE FAILS TO HOLD THE WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE, UNLESS THE TRANSMISSION IS ENGAGED IN "P" (PARK). As a result, the weight of the vehicle rests on the transmission notch that is engaged with the Park position of the transmission. If the vehicle is stopped and the parking brake is engaged, the vehicle will roll in the direction of the downhill. The parking or emergency brake does NOT hold the weight of the vehicle without the transmission!

The rear middle seat child seatbelt retractor on my 2020 Lexus GX 460 failed internally — the belt became stuck and would not retract, rendering the child safety restraint position unusable. The failure was severe enough that the dealership (Tri-County Lexus, Little Falls, NJ) determined the vehicle was unsafe to drive with the affected seating position in use and grounded the vehicle pending repair. Lexus Corporate authorized replacement of the belt assembly (Part #73320-35010-A4) at no cost under an internal goodwill case, which itself indicates recognition that this was a component failure rather than normal wear. I am filing this report so the defect is on record, given the safety-critical nature of a child restraint failure.

Sunroof exploded outward while driving and closed

The contact owns a 2020 Lexus GX460. The contact stated upon starting the vehicle and driving for 10-15 minutes, the windshield and the windows became significantly foggy, requiring the contact to remove the seat belt to lean forward and wipe the windshield to pull over safely. Additionally, the contact wiped all the windows and resumed driving. The contact stated the failure had been recurring while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with an HVAC blend door actuator failure. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

With brake pedal all the way to the floor, vehicle rolls from stopped position. Brake fluid is not low and no brake fluid leak is apparent. No warning lights illuminated.

I am reporting two safety-related problems in my 2022 Lexus GX 460, both present since shortly after purchase and the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. 1. Power Train / Speed Control (delayed acceleration / no throttle response): When I transition from the brake pedal to the accelerator pedal quickly (normal driving), the vehicle intermittently displays a warning message indicating the accelerator is being pressed while the brake is also pressed (or similar wording). When this happens, the vehicle does not respond to the accelerator for several seconds even if I press the accelerator to the floor. This has put my safety and the safety of others at risk because the vehicle fails to accelerate when needed (e.g., when merging, turning, or avoiding traffic), creating multiple dangerous near-miss situations. The warning message appears at the time of the event; I did not notice a warning lamp or message consistently prior to the event. This issue has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. A dealer service visit is scheduled for next week. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives for this problem. 2. Seats (driver seat causes leg numbness/spasms impairing pedal control): The driver seat bottom is unusually firm, and after approximately 30 minutes of driving my legs become numb from the lower thighs down to my feet and I experience spasms to the point that I cannot safely operate the brake and accelerator pedals. This is a safety risk because it can prevent proper pedal control while driving. This condition has been consistent since shortly after purchase. It has not yet been confirmed by a dealer or independent service center, and the vehicle/seat has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives for this issue.

Notice brakes would not hold vehicle and begin to drift into intersection. Depress brake pedal more and it would stop then start to drift again, then placed into neutral as the brake pedal was almost to the floor. So as you were at a red light the brake pedal never moved but wasn't applying constant pressure to keep vehicle stationary then I'd have to apply more brake pedal and repeat. Ma aged to get to work safely and had it towed to Rohrick Lexus and they kept it for two day having a mech take it home. They could not duplicate!

While driving my 2022 Lexus GX460, I experienced a sudden and unexpected loss of braking capability while stopped. After bringing the vehicle to a complete stop, the brake pedal pressure gradually decreased while my foot remained firmly on the brake. As pressure lessened, I applied additional force, but the brake pedal continued to travel downward until it reached the floor. At that point, the vehicle began to move forward at idle despite the brake pedal being fully depressed. I rolled towards the intersection (at a stop light). I took my foot off the brake and applied again. It stopped, and then this repeated. I then put the car in park while I waited for the light to turn green. My destination was only 1km away. When I got there, I turned off the car, and have since been unable to replicate the issue. I took it to a dealership (Lexus on the Park) and they charged me for an investigation and told me the car is good to drive. I need Toyota/Lexus to be informed. Note that I am in Canada but a friend advised for me to submit here. I posted my issue on a Lexus forum and a person named Patrick said he had the same issue in September and was told by the dealership everything is fine. I've asked him to submit to NHTSA as well. Parking brake foot pedal on my GX460 has a very sharp edge on the metal piece on the back side of it. In disengaged position, it sits directly above the left footrest position. If I slight lift my left feet or stretch the foot on a drive, it hits the back side of the parking brake. Around late-Nov '23, the boot that I was wearing on a drive had a cut on it. Upon closer inspection I found a very sharp knife-life edge at the back of the parking brake foot pedal which caused this cut. I took it to the Lexus dealer (Lexus Naperville, IL) where I'd purchased this car in Aug '22. They looked it at it & agreed sharp edge. However, they mentioned that it is from Lexus design & they can't do anything, especially this being on a safety device like brakes. They did refer me to Lexus directly. After multiple email & phone conversations, the Lexus team came back to me saying that it is normal to have a sharp edge like this & failed to acknowledge this being the safety risk. I'm flabbergasted as it's a danger if I or my wife were to wear an open sandal when driving. The sharp edge will cut through the skin & the reflex of being in pain while driving will pose danger both to my family in the car & others on the street. Picture attachments: 1. It is unfortunate that Lexus is not acting on this dangerous situation with my car. It would be much appreciated if you can investigate & intervene to get this fixed for the safety of both my family & others on the road, Thank you.
