The driver seat is not made to be at appropriate lowering and lifting levels for driver safety in drives. It should allow for 120 degree angles but doesn't. SINCE leasing this vehicle my circulation has slowed and I am experiencing daily leg cramps and foot pain. It can dangerously cause blood clots if I don't get out of this vehicle soon. It's been about 8 months and I've been getting worse. I wobble when I walk now from the pain in both legs. I've reported this to my doctor and I have no medical blood tests that signify a reason for this pain. The seat hits the back of my knee. Bending my leg at the proper level causes me to have to use my ankle in awkward positions which is now causing my achilles to over-tighten and my heel to hurt. Others complain of the seats as well with similar issues in Acura Integra forums. This car is making me sick and I have no other recourse. I may need to begin a lawsuit if I cannot get them to take this car back due to this defect. I miss days from work to recuperate from the pain at times or I suffer through it. In the RDX and MDX I had no problem. I never suspected this car would do this to me.
The contact owns a 2025 Acura Integra. The contact stated that while attempting to make a left or right turn, there was an abnormal sound coming from the steering wheel, and the vehicle became difficult to steer. Neither a dealer nor an independent mechanic was contacted. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V744000 (STEERING); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 48,200.
I WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 40 WEST AND MY AIRBAGS SPONTANEOUSLY DEPLOYED, BREAKING MY WINDSHIELD, CAUSING BURNS TO MY FOREARM & ABDOMEN, AND LEAVING ME WITH RINGING IN THE EARS. *TR
DISCOUNT TIRES PROVIDED ME TIRES WITH A 195/50-15 SIZE, WHEN MY VEHICLE CALLS FOR A 195/55-15 SIZE. I HAD BEEN DRIVING IT AND MY TIRES KEPT DEFLATING. I FINALLY WENT SOMEONE ELSE TO GET THEM REPLACED AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE TIRES GIVEN TO ME DID NOT MEET MANUFACTURES SPECIFICATIONS. IF THIS OKAY FOR A COMPANY TO PROVIDE THE WRONG SIZE TIRES? ARE THERE ANY RULES AGAINST THIS? *JB
I HAD A COMPUTER PROBLEM IN MY CAR (ACURA INTEGRA 2001) AND I WENT TO THE ACURA OF AVON DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE COMPUTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE IDLING VALVE. I HAD THE WORK DONE. THEN, I HAD SEVERAL ADDITIONAL PROBLEMS THAT STARTED OCCURRING WITH THE CAR, INCLUDING A FAILED TRANSMISSION. THE CAR ONLY HAS 49, 515 MILES ON IT. FOR ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS TO BE OCCURRING WITH A CAR THAT IS ONLY 4 1/2 YEARS OLD, IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, AND SUCH LOW MILEAGE, IS QUITE SHOCKING. *NM
2001 ACURA INTEGRA DEVELOPED PROBLEMS WITH THE MICHELIN XGT V4 TIRE EQUIPMENT. THE VEHICLE SKIDDED OUT OF CONTROL ON WET PAVEMENT.***NO ANSWER REQUIRED***. *MR THE CONSUMER'S SON WAS INVOLVED IN TWO SERIOUS ACCIDENTS WITH THIS VEHICLE IN WHICH IT SKIDDED OUT OF CONTROL WHILE ON A WET SURFACE. BOTH TIMES THE CONSUMER'S SON WAS AT FAULT. THE CONSUMER CAME ACROSS NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE VEHICLE MICHELIN XGT V4 TIRES HAVING POOR TRACTION ON WET SURFACES. THE CONSUMER BELIEVES THE TIRES WERE THE CAUSE OF THE TWO ACCIDENTS HIS SON HAD IN THE VEHICLE. *NM
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM THE STORE AND THE CAR JUST STOP RUNNING. HAD IT TOWED TO ARLINGTON ACURA IN PALATINE. 1275 E DUNDEE RD. , PALATINE, IL. (847) 991 9000 BECAUSE THE CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY UNTIL MAY 31, 2005. THEY HAVE HAD IT ALL NOW THEY TELL ME THEY WILL NOT COVER IT. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY SAID SOMETHING BROKE IN THE ENGINE THAT'S WHY IT STOPPED RUNNING. I THINK THEY SHOULD FIX IT BUT THEY KEEP SAYING THEY WILL NOT. WHY DO THEY PUT A WARRANTY ON A CAR IF THEY ARE NOT GOING TO STAND BEHIND IT. I NEED YOU HELP TO GET IT FIXED. THANK YOU. *PH *NLM **DIMSII IVOQ ENTRY POSTED AFTER 12/12/02 CUT OVER TO ARTEMIS**768325
AS I MADE A LEFT TURN THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED; I HAD TO MAKE A SUDDEN STOP, AFTER WHICH I COULD CONTROL THE STEERING AGAIN - I HAD DRIFTED INTO THE LEFTMOST LANE @ THAT POINT IN A MATTER OF MILLISECONDS. ACURA SAY THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR ALTHOUGH THEY ADMIT THAT THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.*AK
I was on my way home from work this morning and all warning lights (electric power steering, ABS, collision control warning, brake system sensors, etc.) randomly came on and the steering became very still. When parking, I wasnβt able to turn the car off without pressing the βpush to startβ button multiple times.
MY ABS LIGHT WAS ON AND I APPLIED MY BRAKES TO AVOID HITTING VEHICLES IN FRONT OF ME. WHEN I DID THIS MY BRAKES LOCKED UP AND MY VEHICLE SLID APPROXIMATELY 6 FEET INTO THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. *TR
I PURCHASED MY INTEGRA IN 2012 WITH 75,000 MILES AND TO THIS DAY THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT HAS COME UNDONE MULTIPLE TIME. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS I THOUGHT AT FIRST IT WAS BEING CAUSED BY A SEAT COVER BUT AFTER REMOVING THE SEAT COVER IT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. *TR
THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT SEAT BELT BUCKLE COMES UNDONE ON ITS OWN. THIS HAS OCCURRED WITH MULTIPLE PASSENGERS (~5) OVER THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS (2003-2010). THE REPORTED DATE ON THIS INCIDENT IS THE DATE OF LAST OCCURRENCE. THE FIRST FEW TIMES IT HAPPENED, NO RECORDS WERE KEPT BECAUSE IT WASN'T OBVIOUS THAT THE ISSUE WAS A ONE-OFF INCIDENT DUE TO INCORRECTLY INSERTING THE BUCKLE. EACH TIME, THE BELT BUCKLE MADE AN AFFIRMATIVE CLICKING SOUND WHEN INSERTED, BUT GETS UNDONE OWN ITS OWN WHILE DRIVING. WHEN IT COMES UNDONE, A FAINT CLICKING SOUND CAN BE HEARD, FOLLOWED BY THE LATCH WITHDRAWING SLOWLY. THE PROBLEM CANNOT BE REPRODUCED BY LATCHING AND UNLATCHING THE BUCKLE, AND ACURA DOES REFUSES TO REPLACE THE BUCKLE. *TR
I OWN A 2000 ACURA INTEGRA (BOUGHT BRAND NEW FROM A DEARLERSHIP IN NJ) TOWARDS THE END OF 2000. I FEEL QUITE STRONGLY THAT MANY ACURA MODELS HAVE DEFECTS WITH THEIR "SRS LIGHTS" COMING ON UNEXPECTEDLY ON AUTOMOBILES. LAST YEAR, THE SRS LIGHT CAME ON AND I WAS TOLD I NEEDED A CLOCK SPRING WHICH WAS REPLACED. THIS YEAR, THE SRS LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND I WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED A NEW PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. THIS WAS TOTALLY A SHOCK TO ME SINCE I THOUGHT THAT AIRBAGS ARE USUALLY REPLACED WHEN THEY ARE DAMAGED IN AN AUTO ACCIDENT OR AFTER THEY ARE DEPLOYED. I HAD THE AIRBAG REPLACED AND IT COST OVER A THOUSAND DOLLARS TO DO SO. I HAD CONTACTED MY INSURANCE AGENT AND WAS INFORMED THAT HE HAD NEVER HEARD OF AN AIRBAG BEING REPLACED OUT OF THE CLEAR BLUE SKY. AFTER THE AIRBAG WAS REPLACED, I REQUESTED FROM THE DEALERSHIP THAT I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THE AIRBAG THAT WAS REMOVED FROM MY CAR TO HAVE IT INSPECTED INDEPENDENTLY AND WAS TOLD THAT I COULD NOT TAKE IT SINCE THEY HAVE TO DISPOSE OF IT THEMSELVES FOR SAFETY REASONS. I NOTICED IN DOING SOME OF MY OWN RESEARCH THAT SRS LIGHTS COMING ON QUITE A BIT IN ACURA'S AND IT IS DEFINITELY A COMPLAINT FROM MANY CUSTOMERS AND THIS INFO CAN BE FOUND BY DOING A GOOGLE SEARCH. I ALSO NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL (02V196) ON THE 2001 ACURA INTEGRA MODEL WITH DESCRIPTION "PASSENGER AIRBAG MODULES WERE TO PROPERLY WELDED AND MAY NOT DEPLOY IN A COLLISION". I TRIED CONTACTING ACURA DIRECTLY VIA LETTER AND PHONE AND TO NO AVAIL. THEY ARE UNCOOPERATIVE. I WOULD LIKE AN INVESTIGATION ON THIS MATTER SINCE ITS MIND-BOGGLING TO ACCEPT THE FACT THAT AN AIRBAG NEEDED TO BE REPLACED OUT OF THE BLUE AND CONSIDERING THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS BY CAR OWNERS OF ACURA MODELS, ITS NOT DIFFICULT TO BELIEVE THAT THIS COULD VERY WELL BE A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. PERHAPS A COMPONENT RATHER THAN A WHOLE BAG NEEDED REPLACEMENT. PLEASE ASSIST ME WITH THIS MATTER SINCE YOU ARE MY ONLY HOPE TO SOLVE THIS UNFORTUNATE MATTER. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 ACURA INTEGRA. WHILE THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP, IT WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE TRAVELING 50 MPH. SHE STATED THAT HER SEAT BELT LOCK SYSTEM FAILED, WHICH CAUSED THE SHOULDER BELT NOT TO RESTRAIN. THE LAP BELT WAS THE ONLY PART THAT PROPERLY RESTRAINED. THE CONTACT SUFFERED A CONCUSSION DUE TO HER HEAD STRIKING THE STEERING WHEEL. THE INSURANCE COMPANY HAS NOT DECLARED IF THE SEAT BELT WILL BE INVESTIGATED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL FILED REPORT NUMBER 9550. THE POWERTRAIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 73,000.
THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT MAKES A CLICKING SOUND AND FEELS LATCHED IN APPROPRIATELY. HOWEVER, ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS (APPROXIMATELY 20 TO 30), IT HAS COME UNDONE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TRIED TO ATTACH THE SEATBELT AND SEE IF IT WOULD COME LOOSE. HOWEVER, THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM SO NOTHING WAS DONE. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO 4 DIFFERENT PEOPLE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT WEARING THAT SEATBELT, ALL OF WHOM HAVE HAD VARIOUS HONDA OR ACURA CARS FOR YEARS AND HAVE NOT PREVIOUSLY ENCOUNTERED THIS APPARENT PROBLEM WITH THE LATCH.*AK
I BOUGHT FOUR MICHELIN XGT-V4 TIRES. ONE TIRE DID NOT HAVE THE FOUR NUMBER DOT STAMP WHICH INDICATES WEEK AND YEAR OF MANUFACTURE. THE OTHER THREE TIRES HAD THEM CLEARLY MARKED.*AK
I AM TOLD THAT A BOLT CAME LOSE INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION AND I WAS VERY LUCKY IT NOT HAPPENED WHEN I WAS ON THE FREEWAY. THERE WAS NO WARNING THE CAR WORKED FINE AND THEN IT DIDN'T. IT IS STILL IN THE SHOP. THEY HAVE TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. AND SINCE I HAVE SUCH HIGH MILAGE IT IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRENTY. I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT TRANSPORTATION FOR OVER 2 WEEKS AND IT WILL BE ANOTHER WEEK BEFORE I CAN PICK MY CAR UP. I KNOW FROM READING YOUR WEB SIGHT THAT MY MODEL ACURA IS NOT THE ONE THATS SUPPOSE TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM.. HOWEVER, A BOLT IS IS NOT SUPPOSE TO JUST FALL OUT AND DESTROY A TRANSMISSION IN A AUTO 3 YEARS OLD.
I PURCHASED MY 2000 ACURA INTEGRA NEW IN JAN 2000. APPROX 2 WEEKS AGO, WITH NO WARNING, IT STOPPED CHANGING GEARS. I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT I'M LUCKY I WAS NOT ON THE FREEWAY. I HAD IT TOWED TO AN AUTO REPAIR SHOP LAST FRIDAY. 2 DAYS AGO THEY CALLED TO INFORM ME A BOLT HAD COME OFF INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION AND IT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE TRANSMISSION NOT THE BOLT!!! IT WOULD COST $2550.00 AND WOULD NOT BE READY UNTIL NEXT WEEK. I INFORMED THEM I WANTED A DETAILED REPORT ON EXACTLY WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND ALL DAMAGED PARTS. I HAVE HIGH MILEAGE ON MY AUTO (82,000) AND IT IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. I DON'T THINK IT IS REASONABLE FOR A BOLT TO FALL OFF AND DESTROY A RELATIVELY NEW TRANSMISSION. THIS IS MY 2ND INTEGRA ... I PURCHASED MY 1ST NEW INTEGRA IN 1992 AND HAD IT 9 YEARS WITH 186,000 MI BEFORE I SOLD IT. THE BIGGEST PROBLEM I HAD THE ENTIRE TIME I OWNED IT WAS REPLACING THE RADIATOR. THIS IS THE REASON I PURCHASED THE 2ND ONE. THERE MUST BE SOMETHING I CAN DO ABOUT THIS!!! ANY SUGGESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. *NLM

π Understanding This Data
What is an NHTSA Complaint?
An NHTSA safety complaint is a report filed directly by a vehicle owner or driver describing a safety-related issue. Anyone can submit a complaint at NHTSA.gov. The number of complaints is a signal of how common a problem is β but complaints per model-year matter more than raw totals, since popular vehicles naturally receive more reports. The Acura Integra has 293 complaints on record across 6 model years.
What is a Safety Recall?
A safety recall is a mandatory campaign issued by NHTSA when a vehicle component poses an unreasonable risk to safety or does not comply with federal motor vehicle safety standards. Unlike complaints (which are owner-reported), recalls are formally investigated and confirmed by regulators. Manufacturers must fix recalled vehicles free of charge. The Acura Integra has 15 recall campaigns in the NHTSA database.
What Are Crash Complaints?
Crash complaints are NHTSA filings where the owner indicates a crash occurred as part of the incident. 11 of the Acura Integra's 293 complaints involved a crash. This metric is particularly important because it indicates how often defects resulted in actual collisions β a key safety signal beyond general reliability.
How Is the Reliability Verdict Calculated?
The reliability verdict (Poor) is generated by analyzing the vehicle's total complaints, recall history, crash complaint ratio, fire complaint ratio, and top component failures relative to class averages. This verdict gives buyers a quick interpretation before they review year-level details and VIN-level history. It should be treated as one decision input, not a substitute for a VIN-specific report.
Why Do Newer Years Have Fewer Complaints?
Newer model years appear to have fewer complaints because there has been less time for owners to file them. Complaints accumulate over years of ownership. A 2020 model year vehicle will typically show fewer complaints than a 2015 model year even if it is less reliable β simply because fewer owners have had time to report issues. Focus on complaints per year of market presence when comparing across model years.
Fleet Data vs. Individual VIN
Everything on this page reflects aggregated data across all Acura Integra vehicles on the road β not any specific car. Two Acura Integra vehicles of the same year can have very different histories: one may have been in three accidents and have an open recall; another may be clean. A VIN check gives you the individual car's history: accidents, title brands, odometer records, service history, and real-time recall status.
What Are NHTSA Investigations?
When NHTSA receives a pattern of related safety complaints, it opens a formal investigation. A Preliminary Evaluation (PE) is the first stage β NHTSA determines if a safety defect may exist. If evidence is strong, it escalates to an Engineering Analysis (EA), which can result in a mandatory recall. The Acura Integra has 0 investigations on record (0 active). Investigations listed above may have already led to the recalls shown on this page.
