The contact owns a 2022 Chrysler Voyager Mobility vehicle. The contact stated that within a month of purchasing the vehicle brand new, the passenger's side door failed to open, causing the contact to be trapped inside the vehicle. Another mobility vehicle driver assisted the contact by opening the passenger's side door from the outside. The contact stated that the failure had recurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the cable that opened the passenger's side door was entangled and fractured. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the cable was outdated and needed to be replaced with an updated cable. The updated cable was sent to the mechanic, who replaced the cable; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was driven to a nearby independent mechanic Empey's Truck & Auto Repair, where the passenger's side door cable was cut, and the door was opened. The contact drove to the residence. The vehicle was taken back to Empey's Truck & Auto Repair by the contact's relatives, and a new cable was installed; however, the failure persisted. The contact drove over to his brother, who was unable to open the door from the outside. The vehicle was then taken back to Empey's Truck & Auto Repair, where the cable was cut, and the door was opened. The modifier was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 150.
I just recently used my cruise control for the first time since I purchased my vehicle. After my speed was reached and without me touching anything my van started going crazy so it seemed all on its own it continued to pick up speed and high rates of speed very high rates . So I immediately took it out of cruise control and tried it once again and the same issue kept going. I find this very unsafe and especially since my very young grandkids travel with me in my vehicle often. Has anyone noticed such an issue before ? And after this late safety recall and now this I kinda am unsure on this vehicle altogether anymore. Is there anything I can do? I donβt want a vehicle going on my credit but I also donβt want to pay for something that is unsafe and puts me and my passengers as well as anyone else in danger ???
I used to do business with this car but I can not now since we have this safety recall. I took the car to the dealer they said `it should not be problem to fix`. They kept the car for two days and changed my tire did nothing about the safety recall. I had to pay for the tires for a car I can not use. This is unacceptable, they literally played me.
We purchased this vehicle from a dealership in July 2024. The vehicle is only 2 years old and we have taken it to the dealership for repairs on multiple issues within the electrical components two times in one week. The first issue was the lift gate mechanism was failing which drained both of our batteries and the second issue was the horn failed. The horn is a major safety concern. Not to mention the fact that the horn parts are on back order, most likely due to many other malfunctioning horns in the Chrysler voyager. There were no warnings about when our horn actually started malfunctioning or anything until we tried to use it while driving and it failed to work. Again, Iβm concerned as to why this particular issue has yet to be recalled considering the dealership stated that the mechanism is an electrical issue within the mother board of the vehicle. Iβm also concerned as to why this mechanism would fail in just a two year old vehicle. Iβve never had a vehicles horn go out ever in my ownership of cars. This particular situation in my opinion needs to have an official recall as well as reimbursement for the failed mechanisms.
The contact owns a 2022 Chrysler Voyager LX. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at slow speeds into a home garage, the vehicle suddenly accelerated on its own, colliding with the garage door. After which, the vehicle reversed and continued to accelerate across the street, coming to a complete stop after colliding with another garage door. The air bags did not deploy. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. A police report was filed, and injuries were reported. The contact reported pain in his neck and back and was treated by paramedics; however, he refused transport to an area hospital. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 4,000.
The contact owns a 2024 Chrysler Dodge. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V189000 (Air Bags); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted and was awaiting the parts for the repair. The contact stated that the dealer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

It has a recall, and I've taken it to the dealer three times, but they don't have the part.
REVERSE LIGHTS DO NOT WORK. TOLD BY 2 MECHANICS THAT CHRYSLER HAD REPAIRED VIA RECALL OR LETTERS IN PAST. I WAS TOLD THIS IS A ROUTINE PROBLEM WITH THE CAR. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE COVERED.
SO I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND I HEARD A NOISE FROM THE REAR END OF THE VAN MIND YOU THE SPEED LIMIT IS 45MPH HERE. I DRIVE IT TO THE NEAREST SHOP TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT , THEY CAME IN AND TOLD ME I'M LUCKY TO HAVE MADE IT THIS FAR AS ( THE REAR CHASSIS HAS BROKE! ) THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED JUST LIKE FORD MOTOR COMPANY DID WITH THEIR VANS !!! I HAVE HEARD ABOUT OTHER VOYAGER VANS HAVING THIS ISSUE IN SALT BELT STATES .
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHRYSLER VOYAGER. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND FAILED TO ACCELERATE OVER 50 MPH. THE VEHICLE FELT AS IF IT WOULD STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL CABLE FAILURE THAT RAN THROUGH THE FUEL INJECTION AND NEEDED TO REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 217,000.
OUR VAN MODEL / YEAR ISN'T LISTED UNDER THE IGNITION SWITCH RECALL, BUT WE HAVE THE IDENTICAL ISSUE; YOU CAN REMOVE THE KEY IN ANY POSITION - WHETHER THE MOTOR IS RUNNING, OR IS ON ACCESSORY. *TR
HEADLIGHTS AND ALL INSIDE LIGHTING FLICKER WHILE DRIVING. DEALER REPLACED ALT. AND BATT. STILL FLICKERS WHILE DRIVING. *TR
HEADLIGHTS FLICKER WHILE DRIVING OR STOPPED. VEHICLE HAS NEW ALTERNATOR. DASH LIGHTS, HEADLIGHTS DIM ON BRAKING. *TR
THE FAILURE CAME SUDDENLY. ONE DAY, WHILE DRIVING, THE AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THEN WAS EXTINGUISHED A FEW MINUTES AFTER. THE SECOND OR THIRD TIME IT ON REMAINED LIT PERMANENTLY. I IMMEDIATELY REPORTED TO THE GARAGE IN WHICH I BOUGHT THE CAR ON OCCASION. COULD FIND THE FAILURE. HE ASKED ME TO GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHRYSLER DEALER. THE FAILURE HAS NOT REPAIRED, EVEN THE CRUISE CONTROL AND THE HORN ARE INOPERATIVE. I CAN NO LONGER TAKE THE VEHICLE. I CALLED THE CHRYSLER DEALER IN REGION TO TALK HIM ABOUT IT. HE TOLD ME THAT THIS FAILURE, WITHOUT ANY OTHER FAILURE WILL BE CHARGED AROUND 300-350 EUROS BECAUSE MY CAR IS NO LONGER ON SAFETY WARRANTY AND IT IS ALSO NOT AFFECTED BY THE RECALL OF THE CHRYSLER VOYAGER FOR THOSE SAME FAILURES. THE CHARGE IS VERY EXPENSIVE FOR ME. IT IS THEN I TRY TO FIND HELP ON INTERNET THAT I CAME ACROSS YOUR WEBSITE. THAT IS MY ENTIRE PROBLEM. THREE MAJOR PROBLEMS: 1 - AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED PERMANENTLY 2 - SPEED CONTROL (CRUISE CONTROL) NON FUNCTIONAL 3 - HORN INOPERATIVE
IN THE BEGINNING, IT BEGAN WITH THE AIRBAG LIGHT INTERMITTENT VIEWS. BUT QUICKLY, A FEW KILOMETERS LATER THIS LIGHT REMAINED LIT PERMANENTLY. AT THE TIME, THE CRUISE CONTROL WORKS ONCE ON THREE, AND THEN AFTER NOTHING. THE AIRBAG LIGHT REMAINS LIT CONTINUOUSLY, THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK, AND WORSE THE HORN IS INOPERATIVE. I CAN NO LONGER TAKE THE VEHICLE. I CALLED THE CHRYSLER DEALER IN MY REGION WHO TOLD ME THAT THIS WILL BE CHARGED AT AROUND 300 EUROS BECAUSE MY VEHICLE IS NOT AFFECTED BY THE RECALL OF THE CHRYSLER VOYAGER FOR THOSE SAME FAILURES. IT IS THEN BY SEARCHING ON THE INTERNET I CAME ACROSS YOUR SITE SORRY FOR MY APPROXIMATE ENGLISH. I SPEAK BETTER FRENCH. NOTE: I WRITE FROM FRANCE, BUT MY COUNTRY IS NOT LISTED BELLOW, SO I AM TO CHOOSE A TOWN AND PHONE NUMBER FROM AMERICA TO FIT THE FORMULA. *KB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHRYSLER VOYAGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE HEARD NOISE COMING FROM THE BRAKES WHEN SHE APPLIED PRESSURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PRIVATE MECHANIC WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT TO REPLACE THE FRONT BRAKES. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE NOR WAS THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND THE FAILURE MILEAGES WERE UNKNOWN.
AIRBAG LIGHT INTERMITTENT WILL DRIVING.
RECENTLY I NOTICED THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS "SPONGY"- I INSPECTED THE BRAKE SYSTEM AND FOUND A STEEL PORTION OF LEFT REAR BRAKE LINE ASSEMBLY RUSTED AND LEAKING. THE LINE FELL APART COMPLETELY DURING REMOVAL. THE LINE ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED. I DO HAVE THE OLD LINE ASSEMBLY FOR INSPECTION. THIS VEHICLE HAS BRAKES THAT WEAR OUT MORE FREQUENTLY THAN ANY OTHER VEHICLE I'VE EVER OWNED. I'VE HAD TO REPLACE THE FRONT BRAKES TWICE AND THE REAR BRAKES AND WHEEL CYLINDERS IN LESS THAN 60,000 MILES. WHEN I TRY TO OBTAIN REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR THE FRONT BRAKE SYSTEM I INVARIABLY RECEIVE THE WRONG PARTS- I HAVE TO GET PARTS LISTED FOR A 4 CYL. VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH MINE IS A V-6. I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL NAME-BRAND PARTS MANUFACTURERS AND ALL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. I BELIEVE MY VEHICLE WAS ASSEMBLED AT THE FACTORY WITH THE WRONG FRONT BRAKE SYSTEM WHICH IS UNDERRATED AND RESULTS IN PREMATURE WEAR. I HAVE ALSO, ON A PREVIOUS OCCASION, HAD AN ISSUE WITH AN "ABS" LIGHT AND "BRAKE" LIGHT COMING ON- EVEN THOUGH MY VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES. AT THAT TIME THERE WERE NO LEAKS OR OTHER FAULTS TO CAUSE THE WARNING LIGHTS. I WAS FORCED TO PAY THE DEALER TO "RE-FLASH" THE COMPUTER WHICH WAS IMPROPERLY PROGRAMMED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER HAD A TSB FOR THIS CONDITION AND I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN A CHARGE TO CORRECT A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD SEVERAL BRAKE SYSTEM PROBLEMS WHICH SHOULD NOT BE OCCURRING ON A VEHICLE WITH LESS THAN 60,000 MILES! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 CHRYSLER VOYAGER. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTED INTO THE THIRD AND FORTH GEAR WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE OCCURRED SPONTANEOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPRODUCED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 66,000. UPDATED 06/02/10. *LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE VAN WOULD HESITATE. UPDATED 07/16/10*JB
I HAVE 2003 CHRYSLER VOYAGER MINI-VAN LE THAT BOTH OF THE REAR RED COVERS SEPARATED FROM THEIR REAR LIGHT ASSEMBLE. THE WEATHER TEMPERATURE WAS ABOUT 90 DEGREES IN LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA. THE RED COVERS UNGLUED FROM THE REAR LIGHT ASSEMBLE AND FALL OFF THE VAN DURING DRIVING THE VAN. *TR

The basics
How to read this data
Complaints, recalls, investigations β hereβs what each number actually tells you about a used Chrysler Voyager, in plain English.
What is an NHTSA Complaint?
An NHTSA safety complaint is a report filed directly by a vehicle owner or driver describing a safety-related issue. Anyone can submit a complaint at NHTSA.gov. The number of complaints is a signal of how common a problem is β but complaints per model-year matter more than raw totals, since popular vehicles naturally receive more reports. The Chrysler Voyager has 71 complaints on record across 10 model years.
What is a Safety Recall?
A safety recall is a mandatory campaign issued by NHTSA when a vehicle component poses an unreasonable risk to safety or does not comply with federal motor vehicle safety standards. Unlike complaints (which are owner-reported), recalls are formally investigated and confirmed by regulators. Manufacturers must fix recalled vehicles free of charge. The Chrysler Voyager has 38 recall campaigns in the NHTSA database.
What Are Crash Complaints?
Crash complaints are NHTSA filings where the owner indicates a crash occurred as part of the incident. 4 of the Chrysler Voyager's 71 complaints involved a crash. This metric is particularly important because it indicates how often defects resulted in actual collisions β a key safety signal beyond general reliability.
How Is the Reliability Verdict Calculated?
The reliability verdict (Average) is generated by analyzing the vehicle's total complaints, recall history, crash complaint ratio, fire complaint ratio, and top component failures relative to class averages. This verdict gives buyers a quick interpretation before they review year-level details and VIN-level history. It should be treated as one decision input, not a substitute for a VIN-specific report.
Why Do Newer Years Have Fewer Complaints?
Newer model years appear to have fewer complaints because there has been less time for owners to file them. Complaints accumulate over years of ownership. A 2020 model year vehicle will typically show fewer complaints than a 2015 model year even if it is less reliable β simply because fewer owners have had time to report issues. Focus on complaints per year of market presence when comparing across model years.
Fleet Data vs. Individual VIN
Everything on this page reflects aggregated data across all Chrysler Voyager vehicles on the road β not any specific car. Two Chrysler Voyager vehicles of the same year can have very different histories: one may have been in three accidents and have an open recall; another may be clean. A VIN check gives you the individual car's history: accidents, title brands, odometer records, service history, and real-time recall status.
What Are NHTSA Investigations?
When NHTSA receives a pattern of related safety complaints, it opens a formal investigation. A Preliminary Evaluation (PE) is the first stage β NHTSA determines if a safety defect may exist. If evidence is strong, it escalates to an Engineering Analysis (EA), which can result in a mandatory recall. The Chrysler Voyager has 0 investigations on record (0 active). Investigations listed above may have already led to the recalls shown on this page.
