The contact owns a 2021 Infiniti Q60. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the malfunction warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a fractured aluminum bracket that sits between the front bumpers. The contact was informed that the aluminum bracket houses the sensor for the cruise control and forward collision avoidance features. In addition, the contact was informed that the aluminum bracket was a poor design by the manufacturer. The contact was informed that the bracket needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 9,950.
The contact owns a 2021 INFINITI Q60. The contact stated while driving approximately 15 MPH, the vehicle shifted into limp mode. The contact stopped the vehicle and had the vehicle towed to a local dealer. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed with needing ECM replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the issue persisted. The manufacturer was informed of the failure but was unable to assist. The failure mileage was approximately 20.
I WAS DRIVING THE CAR AT APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH DOWN THE HIGHWAY. SEVERAL WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON IN THE DASH INCLUDING THE CRASH SENSORS, AND THE CAR LOST ALL POWER. I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PULL THE CAR OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR WITH NO SUCCESS. ONCE THE START BUTTON IS PUSHED, THE CAR MAKES A CLICKING NOISE BUT THE ENGINE DOES NOT TURN ON. THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE NOISE TO STOP IS TO PUSH THE START BUTTON AGAIN. AT THIS TIME, THE CAR WILL NOT START. IT WAS TOWED TO INFINITI DEALERSHIP, AND HAS BEEN THERE AS OF TODAY (03/23/3021) FOR 15 DAYS. NEITHER THE DEALERSHIP, NOR INFINITI NORTH AMERICA HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GIVE ME AN UPDATE ON WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE CAR, OR WHEN I WILL GET IT BACK. THEY CAN NOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM.
Valve body problem
This report relates to NHTSA campaign ID# 10V074000 "Fuel gauge reading may be incorrect." My car has the same symptom as described in the above recall case - fuel gauge shows one-third tank of fuel remaining when the fuel tank is empty. Recall was in 2010 so my car model, 2015 Infiniti Q60 Coupe, is not listed in the recall but exhibits the same problem with a dangerous consequence of losing both power steering and power brake. I have run out of fuel twice, second time after the fuel pump and fuel sending unit were replaced. Luckily I avoided crashing in both cases. That would not have been the case if I was on a busy freeway or if my wife was driving. Dealer that I have contacted simply says that my car model is not included in the recall. Pls expand the recall list of model to include my car model, and other models since 2010.
Airbag sensor light has been On/Off. After a passenger is seated on the passenger side, light goes off. A day or two later, light comes back on.
The contact owned a 2020 Infiniti Q60. The contact stated that while driving at 65 MPH during a rainstorm and attempting to change lanes, the vehicle inadvertently accelerated, prompting the contact to attempt to slow the vehicle. As a result, the vehicle hydroplaned to the left, colliding with the vehicle in that lane on the driver's side door panel. The contact stated that the impact caused the vehicle to be thrust into the right shoulder barrier wall before coming to rest near an access road. The vehicle's air bags were deployed. No warning lights were illuminated on the instrument panel. A police report was filed, and injuries were reported. The contact was transported to a local trauma unit and treated for various facial injuries before being taken into surgery, where a pacemaker was inserted. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic but instead towed to a tow yard. The vehicle was not repaired; instead, it was deemed totaled by his insurance company. After investigating the failure, the contact related it to NHTSA Campaign NumberΒ 21V234000 (Engine and Engine Cooling), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,000.
I had my Q60's oil changed at my local Nissan dealer, who provided a courtesy car wash, after which my back up camera screen went blank and my driver side camera was unreadable with fluorescent coloring. Nissan rep and supervisor had no explanation why those 2 cameras failed and referred me to an Infinity dealer. Both cameras needed replacement at a cost of $4,359.27. Infinity denied liability for camera failures despite Internet confirmation that such camera failures on Q60's are "not uncommon" (Google AI search result, attached) and that recalls of both Nissan and Infinity automobiles due to camera issues are ongoing.
Driving at night head light went out.
SCREEN IN VEHICLE GOES BLACK WHICH DISABLES REAR CAMERA VISIBILITY, WHICH IS A SAFETY HAZARD. THIS HAPPENS IN MOTION OR WHEN AT A STOP. THIS IS KNOWN ISSUE GOING BACK TO 2017 WITH INFINITI AND THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. I AM TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THEY CAN'T REPLICATE THE ISSUE. THEY DON'T NEED TO REPLICATE IT, IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN IGNORED BY INFINITI.
TL* THE CONTACT'S SIBLING OWNS A 2019 INFINITI Q60 COUPE. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM ACTIVATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS NO OTHER VEHICLE IN THE IMMEDIATE VICINITY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FETTE INFINITI (1137 US-46, CLIFTON, NJ 07013, (973) 320-7508) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS INTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100.
failure of passenger sensor for air bag
air bags not functioning11
2014 Q60 Infiniti airbag light flashing, compromising the passenger airbag. The dealer wants over $5-7000 to replace the seat, because of the sense pressure plate failure, indicating an adult sitting in seat, and not a child getting injured. Infiniti redesigned their newer seats, because of this problem, so they knew about it and did nothing to resolve this issue for consumers. There is a recall for the 2014 Qx50 Airbag Diagnostic airbag sensor unit, newer design, "which the Q60 doesn't have", resulting in a cheaper fix. I feel Infiniti only worried about their bottom line, and not the safety of our bottom, being in the seat. Sincere and in need of help!
P0720 and P0500 on 2014 q60 80k
My car started showing "airbag light" blinking out of the blue. I only have 45k miles on the car. When I went to the dealer, they suggested that is should change the entire passenger seat @ 6000 dollars for a Occupancy sensor issue. I even tried talking to Infiniti USA with no avail. they were not willing to help me at all. NHTSA has recalled just about every model of Nissan and Infiniti from 2009 - 2016 or thereabouts for the exact same problem except a Q60 convertible. there are multiple complaints from owners about this issue and how frustrating it is to be spending 6k for a small sensor issue. I am looking for answers and have not been able to resolve it with either the dealer or the manufacturer.
WHEN SOMEONE SITS IN MY PASSENGER SEAT THE SRS SYSTEM FAULTS OUT CAUSING AN ERROR CODE IN THE SRS SYSTEM. STATING AN OCS MALFUNCTION. THE ERROR CODE SAYS TO REPLACE OCS CONTROL UNIT AND SENSOR. THE SRS SYSTEM SHUTS OFF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG BECAUSE THE SENSOR DOES NOT DETECT AN OCCUPANT IN THE SEAT. I TOOK IT TO A DEALER AND THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC ON THE SRS SYSTEM AND CONFIRMED THE ERROR CODE. I CALLED INFINITY CONSUMER AFFAIRS TO ATTEMPT TO GET THEM TO FIX THE SAFETY ISSUE WITH MY CAR AS THE COST OF REPAIR IS $11,497.79. THEY TURNED ME DOWN FLAT. IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE TO ME THAT I SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MALFUNCTION OF A CRITICAL SAFETY ITEM/ISSUE, THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS SAME ISSUE IN THE YEARS THAT MY CAR WAS MADE. BUT MY PARTICULAR MODEL WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE SAFETY RECALL. I'VE DONE RESEARCH ON GOOGLE AND THERE ARE OTHER INSTANCES OF THE SAME SAFETY ISSUE FROM MY MODEL AND YEAR. SO I'M STUCK WITH AN UNSAFE CAR THRU NO FAULT OF MY OWN, I CAN'T TAKE MY WIFE OR ANY OTHER PASSENGER ON TRIPS WITH ME IN GOOD CONSCIOUS THAT THEY WOULD BE SAFE BECAUSE THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY. THIS ERROR EFFECTIVELY SHUTS OFF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. I CAN'T SELL IT BECAUSE AS SOON AS SOMEONE SITS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT THE SRS SYSTEM ERROR STARTS FLASHING AND THE AIRBAG IS SHUT OFF ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. MY CASE NUMBER WITH INFINITY CONSUMER AFFAIRS WAS 47870295.
The airbag light on the dashboard is flashing. The car has 36,157 actual miles and Infiniti says that it is out of warranty. The local Infiniti dealer researched the problem and found that there is a defective sensor in the passenger seat bottom. The dealer says that Infiniti can only suggest replacing the entire seat at a cost exceeding $9,000. The sensor can't be replaced any other way. A local independent auto repair shop confirmed all of this information and also offered that Infiniti is the only car manufacturer they know of that requires a total seat replacement. My feeling is that this is a safety defect that has an impossibly high repair cost. I feel that this justifies a recall order.
AFTER CAR SITS FOR 1~2 WEEKS BATTERY GOES DEAD. HAD TO THE DEALER AND REPLACED BATTERY. 3 MONTHS LATER SAME THING. BACK TO DEALER AND FOUND A DEFECTIVE BATTERY AND REPLACED, AGAIN. 2 MONTHS LATER SAME PROBLEM. BACK TO DEALER AND REQUESTED A PARASITIC DRAW TEST....NEGATIVE. SAME PROBLEM AGAIN, WENT TO DEALER AND THEY SUGGESTED TO DISABLE REMOTE START. DEALER HAS NO CLUE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. THIS ALL HAPPENED IN 2018 TO PRESENT, 2021. I FEEL IT IS NOT THE REMOTE START SINCE IT HAS BEEN IN THE CAR SINCE NEW. NO PROBLEM FOR THE FIRST FEW YEARS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 INFINITI Q60. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURED ON A CONSISTENT BASIS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SEWELL INFINITI OF DALLAS (7110 LEMMON AVENUE, DALLAS, TEXAS) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 28,300.

π Understanding This Data
What is an NHTSA Complaint?
An NHTSA safety complaint is a report filed directly by a vehicle owner or driver describing a safety-related issue. Anyone can submit a complaint at NHTSA.gov. The number of complaints is a signal of how common a problem is β but complaints per model-year matter more than raw totals, since popular vehicles naturally receive more reports. The Infiniti Q60 has 80 complaints on record across 8 model years.
What is a Safety Recall?
A safety recall is a mandatory campaign issued by NHTSA when a vehicle component poses an unreasonable risk to safety or does not comply with federal motor vehicle safety standards. Unlike complaints (which are owner-reported), recalls are formally investigated and confirmed by regulators. Manufacturers must fix recalled vehicles free of charge. The Infiniti Q60 has 6 recall campaigns in the NHTSA database.
What Are Crash Complaints?
Crash complaints are NHTSA filings where the owner indicates a crash occurred as part of the incident. 4 of the Infiniti Q60's 80 complaints involved a crash. This metric is particularly important because it indicates how often defects resulted in actual collisions β a key safety signal beyond general reliability.
How Is the Reliability Verdict Calculated?
The reliability verdict (Below Average) is generated by analyzing the vehicle's total complaints, recall history, crash complaint ratio, fire complaint ratio, and top component failures relative to class averages. This verdict gives buyers a quick interpretation before they review year-level details and VIN-level history. It should be treated as one decision input, not a substitute for a VIN-specific report.
Why Do Newer Years Have Fewer Complaints?
Newer model years appear to have fewer complaints because there has been less time for owners to file them. Complaints accumulate over years of ownership. A 2020 model year vehicle will typically show fewer complaints than a 2015 model year even if it is less reliable β simply because fewer owners have had time to report issues. Focus on complaints per year of market presence when comparing across model years.
Fleet Data vs. Individual VIN
Everything on this page reflects aggregated data across all Infiniti Q60 vehicles on the road β not any specific car. Two Infiniti Q60 vehicles of the same year can have very different histories: one may have been in three accidents and have an open recall; another may be clean. A VIN check gives you the individual car's history: accidents, title brands, odometer records, service history, and real-time recall status.
What Are NHTSA Investigations?
When NHTSA receives a pattern of related safety complaints, it opens a formal investigation. A Preliminary Evaluation (PE) is the first stage β NHTSA determines if a safety defect may exist. If evidence is strong, it escalates to an Engineering Analysis (EA), which can result in a mandatory recall. The Infiniti Q60 has 0 investigations on record (0 active). Investigations listed above may have already led to the recalls shown on this page.
