Bumper is made of very thin plastic and cracked upon a light inpack with protruding snow/ice pile while pulling into driveway. Other cars would have a small dent. Bumper does not give enough protection for real accident. Cost was $1800. Safety concern.
I was driving and all of a sudden out of the blue the gas pedal accelerated and I hit a curb doing damage to the tire and fender. the tire was pushed back. i asked the car dealer who i took it to check it out. they won't check it out till the car is repaired. It's at a body collision now.
The passenger-side front bumper and fender liner detached during a 15 mph swerve to avoid a traffic cone on day 3 of ownership. There was a light graze with no significant impact, but approximately 2 miles later, a noise prompted a safe pull-over. The component (bumper assembly and liner clips) failed completely, with clean detachment and a missing OEM clip. The vehicle and component are available for inspection. This put safety at risk, as the detachment could affect stability during highway driving. The dealer refused a full multi-point inspection and directed me to their vendor resulting in a $1,000 repair estimate without warranty coverage. Their report falsely claimed the vehicle was taken before inspection. No manufacturer, or insurance inspection has occurred. No warning lamps, messages, or symptoms appeared prior to the failure. Best assessment: This is a manufacturing defect in assembly and materials. A properly assembled bumper should withstand a light graze without detachment; the fact that it did indicates poor quality, impairing safety and value. The unrepaired status continues the risk.
The Driver Attention Warning. A mandatory Manufacturing component that cannot be disabled. When driving in heavy traffic at highway speed unwarranted beeps and take a break warnings appear. To be sure this is a severe distraction to drivers and a complaint in my case Hyundai is failing to respond to. It is a distraction and needs to be taken care of with software upgrades that are possible but Hyundai is unwilling to take care. No matter the environment a driver will turn his/her attention to an alarm sound distraction could prove fatal in a worse case scenario. The complaints are abundant and hopefully no deaths have occurred yet. A recall notice to correct this function that is only required in Europe would benefit thousands to hundreds of thousands of drivers through out the US.
1. Front drivers headlight is out, second went inside a restaurant at around 3am to get something to eat and door won't open ,dead battery i guess. 3rd while backing up another vehicle also ran into me, when I blew the horn. No horn or sound.
After purchase, I discovered that the vehicle was sold without a functioning horn, which is federally required safety equipment. I immediately contacted the dealership and Subaru of America to have the defect repaired under the manufacturer’s warranty. Despite repeated requests, Subaru and the dealership refused to repair the defect, which left the vehicle unsafe to operate. A horn is essential for warning other drivers and pedestrians and for safe operation of the vehicle. Selling a vehicle without a functional horn constitutes a serious safety violation. I have documentation supporting my claim, including the warranty agreement, proof of defect, and correspondence showing Subaru’s refusal to repair the horn. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this matter to ensure compliance with federal safety requirements and to prevent potential safety risks to other consumers.

My car has been having electrical problems. First, airbag sensor caused every yellow warning light to go on. Now my infotainment center with maps either goes black or too dark to see all the time. Hyundai has an update for this infotainment center but they cannot update it. It will not update. I am driving relying on maps and all of the sudden it cannot be seen. Very dangerous. I had this happen on the turnpike getting off at an exit and had no idea where to go. There is a Hyundai USA complaint number XXX which has many pages of documents including repair and videos and photos of the problem. THIS IS A 2032 HYUNDAI VENUE WITH 21,000 MILES, ALL THE COMPLIMENTARY INSPECTIONS DONE BY HUYNDAI NORTHWEST IN HOUSTON. WE HAD TO CHANGE THE 4 TIRES DUE TO ABNORAL WEAR AND TEAR. THE NEW TIRES WERE PURCHASED ON NOV 2025. THE LAST SERVICE DONE IN HUYNDAI NORTHWEST WAS ON AUG 2025 WHEN HUYNDAI NORTHWEST SAID THE TIRES WERE OK WHICH IS A LIE. 2 DIFERENT TECHNITIANS FROM DISCOUNT TIRE AND SUN AUTO CONFIRMED THE UNSAFE CONDITION SEPARATELY IN NOV 2025.
Since purchasing the car (New) I experienced issues with the horn stopped working. The dealer replaced it no charge covered under warranty. Received a notification this is a known issue and will be covered for 120,000 miles 10 years. It should09 be no limits Seems to me this is a safety issue needs to be repaired with quality parts that will not fail. I was told at the dealer ship someone is on their 15th replacement.
The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Venue. The contact stated that while driving 20-22 MPH, the Forward Collision Avoidance, Lane Keep Assist, and Blind Spot warning lights illuminated, along with several other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that while driving the vehicle to the dealer the following day, the warning lights had turned off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the air bag control module had failed and needed to be replaced. The dealer ordered the part. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 37,361.
Owner brand new since may 2023. Few months later, beginning 2024 one day notice when need to use that horn went off by it own, when to the dealership to service, after wait for about 3-4 week they replaced,. All good until 5-7 months later around October 2024 once again NOT HORN AGAIN!!. Go back to the dealer they refuse to serve because on the Hyundai system it looks like it was made an mileage alterations, No way I buy the vehicle with 50 miles and the only place servicing the car is the same dealer, they went deeper and found that the DMV mistaken put that in the title when I get the new 2024 plate sticker, the DMV found their mistakes to not charge fixed but I have to wait about 4 months to get the title that said" Corrected" when finally get that, the dealership still can't see my car until Hyundai system marker fix, in order to do that I sent everything, is July 2025 and still waiting they fix that for the dealer for second freaking TIME do the replacement of the horn. THE HORN IS A SAFETY FEATURE!!!!! THIS MUST BE A RECALL at this point and they know that because is happening to every car since 2020. Never again I will own a Hyundai,. And still today July 1th 2025 I have NOT WORKING HORN. having the car and the first replacement still both in warranty
Blew horn at someone who cut in front of me, and horn sounded rough, then the same driver cut me off again, blew horn, NO horn. Also, headlight burnout issues. Had to replace the driver's headlight 39 weeks ago. Week or two after that, the left side went out, and about a month later, running bulb went out on passenger side. Well, the headlight just blew again, same day as the horn, just had to replace that again - $25 a pop at Auto Zone! I've read there were horn recalls on the '20-'22 models, just not on the '23...WHY!??? Electrical in windows not working as they should, very slow to stuck halfway up or down...unfortunately the only thing covered in a purchased warranty is electrical screens, radio, GPS, maps, cruise control, etc... And WHY are my headlights always burning out? Electrical issues for sure! There should be a recall on these horns for the 2023 model as well!
Horn not working....again?! This is the 3rd time it has failed on this car. In St Louis, you abdolutely need a horn for all the idiot drivers that dont pay attention.
Rear ended another car and emergency brake never went on. Got a beeping noise after the car in front of me was hit.
Horn keeps going out on its own. There’s a recall from 2020 to 2022 Hyundai venues but not for 23 or newer. It’s the same part since 2020.
Horn keeps going out in my 23 Hyundai venue. 3rd time from owning the car since march 2023
The original horn failed after about a year and 15,000 miles. Replaced with dealer and new horn failed after about 6 months and 7,000 miles. Only realized after having to avoid a collision and being unable to use my horn. Having a faulty horn could be a factor in a collision, if a vehicle starts to merge into me without me having a way to avoid the collision other than alerting the other driver. The dealership replaced the first horn which was under warranty. No lights or indicators that this system had failed.
The body panel below the left front turn signal has cracked and is getting larger in size due to the thermal dynamics of expansion and contraction. The car is currently under its original bumper-to-bumper warranty and was noticed and reported to Hyundai at 41K miles (the original bumper-to-bumper warranty is for 5 years and 60K miles). Hyundai's warranty includes an anti-perforation warranty, and since the body panel now has a crack exposing the interior of the engine compartment, the item is warrantable. But, Hyundai is refusing to cover it at this point in time. This is in contradiction to their own warranty, which they claim is the best in the automotive industry. If their warranty is that good, then WHY is it so difficult for them to cover this body panel crack?
Since the purchase date, the vehicle has experienced electrical and mechanical issues. Initial problems with the driver-side keyless entry were resolved, but persistent malfunctioning of the passenger window (and at times, other windows) has not been successfully rectified despite multiple repair attempts. Furthermore, during a recent visit to ALM Hyundai for an incident where the engine sputtered and nearly shut off multiple times, the dealership indicated there was no cause for concern. However, I remain apprehensive as this issue could be related to the ongoing electrical and mechanical problems with the vehicle, even without the presence of a check engine light. A recent inspection revealed an oil leak, which was never previously identified or addressed by ALM Hyundai during routine servicing. These unresolved issues raise serious concerns about the vehicle's safety and reliability. Attempts to Resolve: Despite numerous attempts to contact ALM Hyundai's service department and Hyundai corporate customer service, my concerns have not been adequately addressed. Hyundai's proposed solution of paying two car payments in exchange for waiving my rights to warranty or lemon law claims is unacceptable and fails to acknowledge the ongoing issues with the vehicle. I have requested my complete repair history from Hyundai, but the records provided by ALM Hyundai are incomplete. A Carfax report indicates additional service visits that are not reflected in the dealership's paperwork I received upon request. I have since made numerous attempts requesting my repair records and have failed to receive them. I feel as if there is a possible violation of UTPA and my consumer rights at this point.

The basics
How to read this data
Complaints, recalls, investigations — here’s what each number actually tells you about a used Hyundai Venue, in plain English.
What is an NHTSA Complaint?
An NHTSA safety complaint is a report filed directly by a vehicle owner or driver describing a safety-related issue. Anyone can submit a complaint at NHTSA.gov. The number of complaints is a signal of how common a problem is — but complaints per model-year matter more than raw totals, since popular vehicles naturally receive more reports. The Hyundai Venue has 139 complaints on record across 7 model years.
What is a Safety Recall?
A safety recall is a mandatory campaign issued by NHTSA when a vehicle component poses an unreasonable risk to safety or does not comply with federal motor vehicle safety standards. Unlike complaints (which are owner-reported), recalls are formally investigated and confirmed by regulators. Manufacturers must fix recalled vehicles free of charge. The Hyundai Venue has 5 recall campaigns in the NHTSA database.
What Are Crash Complaints?
Crash complaints are NHTSA filings where the owner indicates a crash occurred as part of the incident. 9 of the Hyundai Venue's 139 complaints involved a crash. This metric is particularly important because it indicates how often defects resulted in actual collisions — a key safety signal beyond general reliability.
How Is the Reliability Verdict Calculated?
The reliability verdict (Below Average) is generated by analyzing the vehicle's total complaints, recall history, crash complaint ratio, fire complaint ratio, and top component failures relative to class averages. This verdict gives buyers a quick interpretation before they review year-level details and VIN-level history. It should be treated as one decision input, not a substitute for a VIN-specific report.
Why Do Newer Years Have Fewer Complaints?
Newer model years appear to have fewer complaints because there has been less time for owners to file them. Complaints accumulate over years of ownership. A 2020 model year vehicle will typically show fewer complaints than a 2015 model year even if it is less reliable — simply because fewer owners have had time to report issues. Focus on complaints per year of market presence when comparing across model years.
Fleet Data vs. Individual VIN
Everything on this page reflects aggregated data across all Hyundai Venue vehicles on the road — not any specific car. Two Hyundai Venue vehicles of the same year can have very different histories: one may have been in three accidents and have an open recall; another may be clean. A VIN check gives you the individual car's history: accidents, title brands, odometer records, service history, and real-time recall status.
What Are NHTSA Investigations?
When NHTSA receives a pattern of related safety complaints, it opens a formal investigation. A Preliminary Evaluation (PE) is the first stage — NHTSA determines if a safety defect may exist. If evidence is strong, it escalates to an Engineering Analysis (EA), which can result in a mandatory recall. The Hyundai Venue has 0 investigations on record (0 active). Investigations listed above may have already led to the recalls shown on this page.
